RocTool Continues to Expand and Accompany the Major Brands

RocTool, partners with two JEC Innovation Awards in 2014, continues to expand and accompany the major brands

RocTool, designer of innovative processes for rapid molding of composites, plastic injection and soon metal are partners with two JEC Innovation Awards this year. The rise of RocTool is accompanied by an intensified strategy to sign 30 major brands similar to that of Motorola, Siemens Gigaset or BMW Mini, who are already users or Licensees of RocTool's patents. To accompany its development, RocTool announces a new geographical expansion with the opening of two new subsidiaries in Japan and Germany, along with new Management. Furthermore, RocTool has a 100% ecological luggage shell, due to an adaptation to its technology in « light tooling / out of autoclave » and announced a world record for fast mold heating!

RocTool, partners with two Innovations Awards at JEC Europe 2014

RocTool are partners with two innovation champions. The first is in the "Mobile Devices category" with a smartphone back cover for Motorola and the second is in the "Aircraft Interiors category" for a composite, titanium aeroplane seat, twice as light as currently on the market for Expliseat.

"The new RocTool 3iTech® technology accompanies two award-winning innovation. Regarding the seat, we use inductive coils directly in a steel compression mold. This exclusive technology meets the challenges to design and manufacture the Titanium Seat. Concerning the Motorola back covers, their excellent surface quality offers many possibilities for the finishing (glossy, matt or textured) which are made possible by the RocTool technology. Furthermore, these aesthetic qualities are necessary for the consumer electronic industry and meet the demand for high speed production. Thanks to the cycle time obtained with RocTool systems, the combined production capacity for MotoX and Ultra is greater than 50 000 units per day!" states José Feigenblum, RocTool's CTO.

A strategy: 30 major brands to be signed within 5 years!

RocTool confirms its aspiration to accompany 30 major brands of the same stature as Motorola or Siemens Gigaset in Electronics, or BMW Mini within Automotive. "Today, we have proved that we provide considerable savings to the major brands in Automotive and Electronics. We will not limit ourselves to these markets!" Says, Alex Guichard, RocTool's CEO. "We already have developments starting in cosmetics, luggage, sports & leisure and many other consumer products!"

This is why, after recently opening the subsidiary in Taiwan, RocTool announces upcoming openings of two new subsidiaries in Germany (Freiburg) and Japan (Tokyo). We are expanding our capabilities to be closer to our customers and prospects as we aim for new markets." Continues Alex Guichard This geographical expansion is accompanied by the strengthening of teams within the company. "Our size change requires a Management re-organisation, we recruited a Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Hervé Joab, Matt Boulanger took over the management of the USA subsidiary, José Feigenblum was appointed Chief Technial Officer (CTO) and we will recruit a Chief Operating Officer (COO) before the end of 2014, myself remaining Chairman of the Board."

A new adaptation of the 3iTech® technology: An organic fibre suitcase!

RocTool announces a new patent to make parts without a press, using an electromagnetic induction mold.

« Our technology has been adapted to light tooling / out of autoclave. We also want to process much smaller volumes than we currently do with our usual markets, and our contribution lies in the fact that we reduce the cycle time of technologies still using autoclaves to produce parts in a few minutes and in a single mold. This represents massive energy savings. » states José Feigenblum, CTO. With this technology, RocTool can mold all materials, including ecological ones. Furthermore, RocTool has presented a suitcase shell made from linen fibers at the trade show.

RocTool breaks records in the industry!

"RocTool has just broken a world record for fast mold heating, which was witnessed by Notary Public, by heating the mold from 60ºC to 160ºC in 5,3 seconds: "RocTool is the official partner of world record holder Eric Barone, the fastest, speed snow bike rider on Earth. Actually, I am certain he will beat his own record this April in Vars (France)! At RocTool, we have also broken an unprecedented world record in the industry!" Concludes Alex Guichard.
