MULTIVAC at Anuga Foodtec 2012: Innovation in technology and packaging concepts

Wolfertschwenden, 10.01.2012 - MULTIVAC will be demonstrat-ing its expertise in automation at Anuga FoodTec (27.03. - 30.03.2012) in Cologne: on show will be an integrated traysealer line with a twin track T 700 high-end traysealer. In addition MULTIVAC will also be presenting a R 535 thermoforming packaging machine for the production of 'PrePack' packages. Another highlight of its exhibition presence will be its High Pressure Processing of food (HPP).

At the Anuga FoodTec in Cologne MULTIVAC will be presenting its R 535 high performance thermoforming packaging machine for the production of 'PrePack' packages. The R 535 is equipped with a folding station and a MR 635 cross web labeller. Downstream from the R 535 will be a MBS 110 converging system with inte-grated metal detector for converging the packs. The R 535 offers a simple die change and easy access to the dies thanks to its innovative drawer system and electrically hinged dies.

With the 'PrePack' concept MULTIVAC will be showing an innova-tive pack, which is gaining ever greater circulation in the chill cabi-nets.
The packs look as if the contents have been 'freshly packed' on the sales counter. "Food producers and packers would like to automate but also however to present authentic products which look hand made. The 'PrePack' concept is the method of choice", explains Valeska Haux, Marketing Manager at MULTIVAC. At the same time users benefit from the logistical and hygienic advantages of industrial-scale packaging, as well as from the many different convenience aspects which the 'PrePack' concept offers.

With a second line MULTIVAC will be showing the twin track T 700 high-end traysealer. The T 700 has been designed for the fully automatic packing of large and medium-sized volumes in trays. The machine automatically optimises speed and travel movements for the required output and sets new standards in process reliability, efficiency and Hygiene-Design. The destacking of the trays is carried out by a tray destacker from Carsoe. The packaging line is equipped with a H 130 handling module with a 4-axis robot for placing the finished tray packs into outer cartons.
The handling module has three degrees of movement freedom as well as an optional rotating axis - and therefore offers customers the widest range of applications.
Small batch sizes and HPP
With the T 300 traysealer MULTIVAC will be showing a machine model, which enables smaller speciality companies to make the en-try into the automatic packing of food products in trays. The T 300 seals roughly 20 MAP packs a minute. The format change requires no tools and is software supported, which makes format conversion very simple.

In addition to these MULTIVAC will also be presenting at Anuga FoodTec its extensive expertise in the area of HPP technology. In 2011, as a result of several new patented developments, MULTI-VAC succeeded in integrating high-pressure processing into auto-mated packaging lines and also applying this to MAP packs. The machine manufacturer from the Allgäu has developed a new, groundbreaking concept for the transport containers, which will be available for viewing at Anuga FoodTec. In November 2011 MUL-TIVAC set up a HPP Test Center for its customers at the Wolfertschwenden site.
